Does this work on Windows?
Yes — this tool runs entirely in your browser so it works on Windows, Mac, Linux, and any modern device. No software installation needed.
Will I lose quality converting HEIC to JPG?
HEIC to JPG involves some quality reduction since JPG is lossy. Use the quality slider to control the trade-off between file size and image quality. For lossless output, choose PNG.
How many files can I convert at once?
Up to 50 files per batch. Files are processed in parallel so the whole batch typically completes in seconds.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. All conversion happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly (libheif). Your photos never leave your device.
What about HEIF files?
HEIF (.heif, .hif) is the container format — HEIC is the Apple-specific variant. Both are fully supported by this tool.
Why does my iPhone save photos as HEIC?
Apple switched to HEIC by default in iOS 11 because it stores photos at roughly half the file size of JPEG with the same or better visual quality. You can disable this in iPhone Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible.
